Chile

Chile is a country of pristine wilderness and endless exploration opportunities. Chile, is one South America’s most diverse and amazing countries. The long, thin country stretches from the Atacama desert, the driest place on earth, in the north, to the legendary Patagonia at the southern most tip of the continent. Traveling through the country you will see stunning scenery of forests, glaciers, volcanoes and lakes. The Lake District is described as the South American equivalent of Switzerland, and is also called Green Patagonia due to being between the wine rich central region to its north and the wild lands of Patagonia to its south. There are seven stunning national parks, two private nature reserves, 16 major lakes (with many smaller lakes), and plenty of volcanoes to explore. Also part of Chile, although more than 2000 miles away from the mainland, lies the enigmatic Easter Island, where the Moi statues left by an ancient civilization remain an unsolved mystery. Both, the Atacama and Patagonia are extremely remote, but Easter Island is one of the most inhabited place on earth. For Eco Tourists, Patagonia should definitely be on the itinerary. Its jagged snow-capped peaks, alpacas, and untouched wilderness make Chile a journey of a lifetime.
