Phong Nha Eco Tours
The Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park is considered as one of the best hot spots of biodiversity in the world and is home to many endemic species. Phong Nha National Park encompasses large areas of unadulterated wilderness including waterfalls, streams, and foliage covered mountains. Unfortunately, the area has had problems with hunters and loggers. As a result, a local by the name of Hai decided to create an adventure tour company to help protect the park and its wildlife. Hai is the head local expert in Phong Nha National Park where he worked for over seven years before starting the Eco Tour company. Hai started Hai’s Eco Conservation Tours to help support the animals at the Wildlife Rescue Center financially and provide jobs that were non existent to the locals living in the National Park. All profits from Hai’s Eco Conservation Tour go back into the Wildlife Rescue Centre, back to the locals, or go into future conservation projects. His tours are a great way to learn about conservation measures taken by locals to ensure the survival of native plants and animals while helping the local economy and environment.
Tour Options
Jungle Trek & Wildlife Conservation Tour:
This tour begins at the Phong Nha Wildlife Rescue Center where you will get a chance to interact with a few of animals that have been rescued from poachers or logging operations. After seeing the Wildlife Center and its patients and residents, you will trek through the tropical forest in the National Park using a “Secret Route” which the Vietnamese soldiers used during the war. You will then hike across a large waterfall and enter a beautiful moutain valley. Next you will have a barbecue lunch cooked at the “Weapon Cave”. After the trek you have the option to swim in a crystal natural swimming pool. This tour is a great way to see what happens in the background of the National Park, will get you up and close with many of the animals that inhabit it, and is a great way to support the local community.
2 Day Jungle Trek & Adventure Tour:
This tour is organized for individuals who love adventures and treks in the jungle. It is challenging but you will be rewarded with the spectacular, untouched jungle of Vietnam and the experience of a lifetime. If you want to do this tour you must be physically fit. The two day trip will include an hour at the Wildlife Rescue Center where you will be able to see some of the native wildlife. The rest of your time will be spent trekking through the lush jungle in Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park. On this trip you will be able to explore new areas of our rain forest not accessible on a single day trek. You will be provided a proper camping tent for sleeping at the Weapon Cave. Overnight Wildlife Scouting & Camping:
This tour includes trekking through the jungle; having a BBQ dinner with locals and camping over night. This tour will allow for more exploration of the jungle and chances to see nocturnal wildlife. Going on this tour will help support the animals at the Wildlife Rescue Center financially and more significantly, provide jobs that were non-existent to the locals living in the National Park.
