Kubuku Eco Dive Lodge

Kubuku Eco Dive Lodge is located on Bali’s North East coast near the beautiful Pemuteran beach. This area is known for its natural beauty and great snorkeling and diving spots. What was once an undeveloped beach village has now become an increasingly popular tourist destination. This area is now know for its “Bio rocks”, man made structures that have been sunk into the ocean to help restore coral reefs that had been damaged. Sharp increases in tourism often lead to negative side effects on local communities and the environment but luckily some Eco lodges like Kubuku were created to find a balance between the two. It was our first time to this area of Bali and we had a wonderful experience staying at Kubuku.

The first thing we noticed as we arrived to Kubuku was how friendly and helpful all the staff were. The name Kubuku means “little home” and the staff really make the effort to go above and beyond expectations of your average hotel and add personal touches to make you feel at home. There is an onsite spa/massage room as well as many activities such as cooking classes and yoga for guests to enjoy.

Kubuku hires 100% local employees and directly supports over 20 families in the Pemeteran village. By hiring and training villagers it helps boost the local economy and improve living conditions.

The lodge also gives information to guests about its green policy and importance of sustainable tourism. Many of the fruits and vegetables used at the onsite restaurant are grown on the property in their organic gardens. Food that cannot be grown onsite is sourced from nearby farmers.

The lodge itself has beautiful wood architecture that blends nicely into its surroundings.

The lodge offers a variety of room types including family rooms, deluxe queens, deluxe suites, and classic suites.

Each room comes with a unique outdoor shower so you can enjoy Bali’s gorgeous weather.

Overall we had a wonderful stay at Kubuku and I would highly recommend the Eco lodge and Pemuteran area to anyone looking to get off the beaten path while visiting Bali. Check out our short video we created while staying at Kubuku and click the button below to book your stay!
